Scanning America, Inc., a national provider of document imaging services, announced its recently completed SSAE 16 Type II audit by The Moore Group CPA, LLC, a nationally recognized independent auditing firm, verified the company’s core activities and control objectives with zero exceptions.
The SSAE 16 standard for reporting on control objectives at a service organization replaces the SAS 70 benchmark compliance report for organizations whose products and services are impacted by compliance with regulatory and industry standards such as privacy and security regulations. Successful completion of the SSAE 16 Type II Audit with no exceptions detected, the best result possible, provides independent third party verification of Scanning America, Inc. management’s assertion that its policies and procedures are both correctly designed and operating effectively to achieve the control objectives throughout the specified audit period.
Scanning America, Inc.’s Audit in accordance with the AICPA’s SSAE No. 16 covered the annual period January 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012. The Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 addresses a service organization’s internal controls. Issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), it is considered the authoritative guidance standard for service organizations. As of June 15, 2011, SSAE 16 superseded SAS 70 as the audit standard for service organization auditors. SSAE 16 was adopted by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) in an effort to establish a more uniform reporting standard.
